Climate Action Toolkit

Climate Action ToolkitFrom off-shore drilling to mountain-top removal coal mining, Virginia stands to lose both mountains and coast if we continue to rely on fossil fuels. Hampton Roads is the 10th most vulnerable area to sea level rise on the planet, threatening the Chesapeake Bay, densely populated coastal communities, and several military installations.

We also have a lot to gain from strong clean energy and climate legislation. The mid-Atlantic region has the best off-shore wind capacity of anywhere in the country. That wind could provide 25% of our electricity needs, create jobs, and help the local economy.

With everything we have to gain or lose depending on how the nation addresses climate change, Virginia is on the front lines of this debate. We need to make sure our Senators are hearing us loud and clear. This guide is designed to give you the tools you need to be heard.
