You could be breathing dirtier air if this legislation passes!
Tell your Senator to vote “No” to the Virginia Dirty Air Act. Urge them to vote against HB 1300 (Kilgore).
Under the current law, the Air Pollution Control Board can decide whether to require large polluters to make actual reductions in NOx and SO2 pollutants or allow trading of pollution credits outside the community where the pollution is being generated. This bill would deny the Air Board the authority to require actual pollution reductions.

Dirtier air could limit economic development opportunities in those areas that will not meet the EPA standards for ozone pollution. Those areas are Northern Virginia, the Richmond and Hampton Roads areas.

Please clean up our air in Virginia! Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women. I have heart disease and the statistics on the effects of air pollution and increased rate of heart attack are truly shocking. I am sure the state looses money with every polluted day because of the rate of illness that is caused. All I have to do is walk outside on polluted days to start my chest pain. It is a crime that Virginia, our beautiful home, is defiled by dirty air that effectively murders the citizens. Be proactive, don’t lower air quality standards, increase them and make us proud to be Virginians.
