Save the Date June 26: Hands Across The Sand Virginia
Mark your calendar NOW for Hands Across the Sand on Sat., June 26, 2010 in Virginia Beach! Join the Sierra Club and Surfrider Foundation in drawing a human line in the sand to protest drilling off our Virginia coast.
What exactly is Hands Across the Sand?
The first Hands Across the Sand occurred on 80 beaches stretching Florida’s two coasts. Thousands of Floridians lined up and locked hands in solidarity with their opposition to offshore drilling. It was remarkably successful, word quickly spread and now other communities like Virginia and Georgia are planning Hands Across the Sand events on each of their treasured beaches. We’ve gone national with our movement to protect our clean beaches and healthy ocean waters and to chill the drills!
Here’s video of their gathering in Miami Beach:
Coming soon will be launch of our Hands Across the Sand website, promotional video, downloadable flyers, posters. Look also for your invitation to a special benefit event at Croc’s 19th Street Bistro in Virginia Beach.
