Hands Across The Sand June 26 in VA Beach
Hands Across The Sand is now a national day of action Saturday, June 26! On hundreds of beaches across the U.S., people of all walks of life will be joining hands to draw a line in the sand to say “No” to offshore drilling and “Yes” to clean renewable energy.
The Sierra Club, Surfrider Foundation and Oceana are organizing two local beaches: at the Oceanfront between 19th and 31st Streets and in Sandbridge at Little Island Park, 3820 Sandpiper Road. Head down to the beach starting at 11:00am; we’ll join hands from 12:00 to 12:15pm. For more information, visit http://HandsAcrossTheSand.com/virginia or email eileen.levandoski@sierraclub.org.
Be sure to keep checking the site as additional beaches are organized. You can also elect to organize your own beach. Check out the submission form at the bottom of the Virginia HANDS website.
