Let’s Tell Governor McDonnell what a 21st Century Energy Plan Looks Like!

On October 17 – 18, Governor McDonnell is holding his second Virginia Energy Conference. Based on his track record we expect more of the same: coal, gas, oil, nuclear, with limited commitment to renewable energy. We need to turn this around to safeguard our air and water and begin to address climate change.

Here’s how we start:

Funeral for the Mountains
Join us in memorializing the destruction of Virginia mountains from mountaintop removal coal mining. And help us fight to protect the mountains remaining. Keep Ison Rock Ridge standing! Wear black to this funeral and sing along with the bagpiper to Amazing Grace.
WHEN: Mon., Oct. 17, 5:00 pm
WHERE: Richmond Convention Center, 5th and Marshall Streets

The Good, the Bad and the Dirty Energy Demonstration/Picket Line
Join us outside the Richmond Convention Center for a demonstration/picket line. Bring a sign promoting your favorite Clean Renewable Energy Solutions (wind, solar) and depicting the problems with dirty energy (coal and mountaintop removal coal mining, oil, hydro-fracking, uranium mining).
WHEN: Tues., Oct. 18, 5:00, Starting at 6:00 PM, hear our stand-in for McDonnell deliver a Clean Energy speech we need to hear, not the Dirty Energy speech he will actually deliver.
