EPA Clean Air Standards Forum June 11 in Norfolk VA
Every year, two billion tons of carbon and mercury pollution are dumped into our communities, and lead to an increase in asthma attacks and developmental disorders in our children. Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency announced new standards to limit this pollution. By placing the first national limits on industrial carbon from power plants, we will begin to see a vast improvement in our public health.
On Monday, June 11th, local environmental specialists and experts will discuss how these new standards will effect our public health, the possible Surry Coal Plant, and our clean energy future. Join us for a brief panel discussion and overview of the standard, followed by public comment, questions, and learning different ways you can get involved! Refreshments will be served!
WHEN: Monday, June 11, 6:00 to 8:00 pm
WHERE: Holiday Inn Norfolk Airport, 1570 N. Military Hwy., Norfolk, VA 23502 (map)
