Windmills, NOT Oil Spills! Third annual Hands Across the Sand Sat., Aug. 4

We’re uniting Hands Across the Sand to send Congress a message: “Virginians want windmills, not oil spills”.

Join the Sierra Club, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Oceana, Surfrider Foundation and other partner organizations on Saturday, August 4th for the 3rd annual Hands Across the Sand, an international day of action when thousands line up along beaches and join hands to say “no” to offshore oil drilling and “yes” to clean energy like offshore wind.

Virginia Beach Oceanfront at 17th Street

DIRECTIONS
Buckroe Beach – Hampton, Va
From I-64, take exit 267 for US-60/VA-143/Woodland Rd toward Hampton University. Turn right onto VA-143 E/Woodland Rd. Take a slight right onto W County St. Turn left onto N Mallory St. Turn right onto Point Comfort Ave. Go to end of the road. Parking to the left.

Virginia Beach Oceanfront at 17th Street:
From I-64, take I-264 East to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. I-264 ends near the Oceanfront, becoming 21st Street. Continue on 21st Street and turn right at Atlantic Avenue. Public parking is available at 19th Street. There are also 2 HRT bus routes (20 and 33) that stop nearby at 19th Street. Go to http://www.gohrt.com/route/virginia-beach for more info.
