This summer the Richmond Region Energy Alliance (RREA) is bringing the first Home Energy Makeover Contest to the Richmond area. One lucky homeowner will win up to $10,000 in home energy improvements and finally take control of their home energy bills.

Everyone who enters the Challenge will receive a free home energy report with an energy efficiency score and recommendations for what you can do to improve that score, lower your bills and enhance your comfort. And, it takes just five minutes to enter your information.

Sierra Club is partnering with Richmond Region Energy Alliance to promote the contest and can win a $1,000 prize for bringing in the most contestants. Enter for your chance to win $10,000 in home energy improvements, and help us spread the word!

WHAT: One homeowner will win a Home Energy Makeover valued up to $10,000. Home energy improvements range from small to large solutions and often include air and duct sealing, HVAC upgrades, insulation, sealing and/or replacing windows and doors, lighting and appliance upgrades.

WHEN: The Richmond contest is open for entry through August 26, 2012. The winner will be selected at the end of September, and the improvement work will be scheduled in October.

HOW: Online entry involves a simple 5-minute form that will create a personalized home energy report, free for all entrants.
Click on “Sierra Club” and answer the survey questions and you will automatically be entered to win.
