Protect the Clean Power Plan

The Clean Power Plan is an opportunity to protect our children and future generations from the impacts of climate change by addressing its main cause: carbon pollution from power plants. But a bill has been introduced to the Virginia General Assembly that would needlessly complicate implementation of the EPA’s Clean Power Plan in Virginia. Senate Bill 740 would obstruct our best chance at climate action by tying the process in ugly knots of red tape.

Ask your legislators to protect the Clean Power Plan in the Virginia General Assembly, and vote NO on Senate Bill 740!

Dan River Coal Ash Spill: Never Again

In the past year, two large spills threatened drinking water in Virginia–the oil tanker accident that set the James River on fire in Lynchburg and the Dan River coal ash spill that has shaken the economy of Danville.  These bills improve the way we manage toxics and toxic sites to better protect your drinking water and your communities.

Support two bills that would improve the way Virginia manages toxic materials and toxic sites to better protect our drinking water and our communities.

Contact your Senator today, and tell them vote YES on SB 811 and SB 771!
